2014-2015 Board of Directors

Greg Leurck
President, Talawanda HS

Dear SWOBCA Coaches,

I am honored to serve as your SWOBCA President. Please join me in welcoming back the SWOBCA board members: Shawn Sowders - Vice President, and John Christmann - Treasurer. I would also like to welcome the newly hired coaches, and hope you will be joining our association. It is my hope that every school will have a representative at each meeting this year. We can strengthen our players and the sport of baseball through strong numbers and involvement. It is an exciting time as we make preparations for the 2015 season.

As coaches, we have the job of promoting the game of baseball. I know our primary job is to work with our high school athletes, but we must branch out to other levels of baseball. This SWOBCA board will be putting more emphasis on outreach with our youth coaches and players, college coaches, scouts, and the Cincinnati Reds. We will be encouraging more coaches to get involved with the Association as well. We need to continue our efforts to make sure high school baseball in Cincinnati continues to be played at the highest level possible. We will continue playing in the Reds Futures Showcase, which will be the 4th year for this awesom event. We will also be playing the inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Games, in memory of Coach Jeff Hurt from Amelia.

We would like to encourage you to use the new website for all your coaching needs. This new site will give us better tools to update information and open the lines of communication between coaches. Please use this site to post open dates for games or coaching vacancies.

Thank you for all of your time and effort to help develop fine young men and student-athletes. You are the reason why the Southwest district has the best baseball in Ohio. I wish you good luck this upcoming season.

Sincerely,

    Greg Leurck
